The Pets Table crafts its fresh-frozen food from whole-food ingredients. It qualifies as human-grade dog food because it uses human-grade ingredients and manufactures its food in FDA-monitored kitchens. As you can see, it contains no fillers or questionable ingredients. Salmon oil is a fantastic source of omega fatty acids to aid in skin, coat, and joint health. Yeast culture can improve digestion and boost the immune system.
I also like the “superfood” veggies and fruits and the inclusion of organ meats in the chicken and beef recipes. When compared to other popular fresh food brands, like The Farmer’s Dog and Ollie, The Pets Table’s recipes are higher in protein, fat, and calories and lower in fiber.

Air-Dried Dog Food
The Pets Table air-dried dog food also features whole-food ingredients but isn’t considered human-grade. However, it’s minimally processed with low heat to preserve nutrients and flavor. Breaking down these air-dried recipes, they contain such beneficial ingredients as antioxidant-rich veggies and fruits and fish oil and flaxseed (for skin, coat, and joint health).
Bovine plasma is a highly digestible and nutritious protein source, and dried chicory root is a natural prebiotic that aids in digestion. Choline chloride sounds like a bad chemical, but it actually provides healthy support for fat metabolism, liver function, and nervous system function. Tricalcium phosphate is a natural mineral that’s a good source of calcium and phosphorus.
Each recipe does include a dairy product so this air-dried food may not be ideal for dogs with allergies. Also, although vegetable glycerin isn’t harmful to dogs, it has no nutritional value so it could be considered a filler. Compared to Sunday For Dogs, a similar air-dried brand, The Pets Table has lower protein and calories, so it’s a better option if your pup is prone to weight gain.

My Personal Experience With The Pets Table
I received a two-week free trial of The Pets Table in exchange for an unbiased review. My little taste-tester, Tiny, has tried out many different fresh and air-dried brands, so he’s a pro at this. I’ll share my experience with you to give you an idea of how The Pets Table works and how Tiny and I rate it.
Getting Started
I started out the process by completing The Pets Table’s online dog profile. It only took a few minutes. You include your pup’s age, breed, size (toy, small, medium, large), weight, activity level (inactive, active, highly active), and body condition (somewhat slim, just right, chunky). Unlike some other subscription services, The Pets Table doesn’t include any health conditions.
Choose Your Subscription
Once I completed the quiz, it was time to choose the subscription I wanted. I chose the mixed plan because I wanted Tiny to try out both the fresh and air-dried chow. I like that you have several options to fit this healthy dog food into your budget. For example, if you want to save some money, you can sign up for the half-fresh plan and add it to your pup’s less-expensive kibble.
Select Recipes
My next step was to select Tiny’s recipes. With the mixed plan, I had the option to choose one or two fresh recipes and one air-dried formula. I went with fresh and air-dried chicken and fresh turkey. I will note that many other fresh dog food subscription services have more recipes to choose from.
It’s a little disappointing that The Pups Table only has three — and that they’re all grain-free. The air-dried chicken recipe is the only grain-inclusive option. I prefer grain-inclusive food for Tiny, so that’s why I chose that formula as his air-dried pick.
To give you an idea of the cost, Tiny is an 11-year-old mixed breed who weighs 25 pounds, is fairly active, and is at an ideal weight. After my free trial, they gave me the option of having deliveries every 5 weeks for $33.60/week or every 3 weeks for $38.64/week.

Has The Pets Table Been Recalled?
A pet food recall typically occurs when there’s a potential risk of contamination or another issue that causes the food to not meet quality standards. The Pets Table hasn’t had any food recalls to date, but it’s only been on the market since 2023.
Are You Supposed To Add Water To The Pets Table Air-Dried Food?
No. You don’t need to add water to this option. Their air-dried dog food retains enough moisture to make it palatable for your pup. It resembles a jerky-like texture that many dogs enjoy vs. hard kibble. It’s also more amendable than dehydrated dog food which can be super dry and crunchy.
How Long Does The Food Stay Fresh?
According to The Pets Table website:
- Air-dried meals remain fresh for up to 6 months when stored in a dry and cool location and kept closed after opening.
- Fresh meals are good for up to 6 months in the freezer and up to 7 days in the refrigerator. They also recommend defrosting meals in your refrigerator for at least 12 hours before serving them to your dog.
How Flexible Are Subscriptions?
The Pets Table is fairly flexible but not as much as similar delivery services. What can you change? Before each order is set for delivery, you can adjust your plan type, meal selections, billing, and shipping information. You can find the last day to make changes to your order listed on your account dashboard. You can also pause, skip, or cancel your subscription anytime before this deadline. What’s inflexible? I recommend The Pets Table if you prefer a largely grain-free premium diet for your fuzzy sidekick. However, if you want grain-inclusive food, their chicken air-dried recipe (either alone or coupled with their fresh food) is also a good option. Having researched and tested many other fresh and air-dried brands, The Pets Table doesn’t have a lot that makes this brand stand out among its competitors.
