A food sale on Facility C at California State Prison, Sacramento, raised nearly $6,000 for Guide Dogs of America. The charitable act benefits the incarcerated as well as the community outside the walls.

The non-profit group’s mission is about transforming lives. Through their Prisoners Overcoming Obstacles and Creating Hope program, the incarcerated participants have been training dogs in the prison since June 2021.

The program is designed to meet the need for service dogs. Meanwhile, the program also provides an opportunity for education, rehabilitation, and community improvement for incarcerated individuals.
